NOT NEW, BUT COOL!!!!

This project has been around for a while - we first saw it on jeansnow.net a few months ago - but Japanese designers Nendo have finally sent us some decent-sized images of their climbing wall at the new Illoiha Omotesando fitness club in Tokyo.

The highlight is this climbing wall made of English stately home-style accessories such as picture frames and deer heads instead of the usual rock-shaped holds.

Wish i bloody thought of that

Thanks Sofi!!!! x

THERE IS ONLY ONE!!!!!

Simon "Barnzley" Armitage!!!!
And he is always a pleasure to spend a lunch time with.

For those of you that do not know Mr B...
here are a few things you should know

Barnzley has been at the forefront of every major youthquake since Punk in the late 70s.

Barnzley, is also the brains behind Special Needs, House 33, & was a founded Zoltar The Magnificent .

He is crazy

Barnzley Armitage spent his teen years hanging out in Soho with a bloke named Joe Corre, who founded the luxurious lingerie brand Agent Provocateur. Barnz bugged Joe for years to call his mates at House Industries because the original AP logo and wordmark were set from an existing over-the-counter typeface.

He now runs the new label TERRORIST, with Joe Corre {Agent Provacateur}, has opened a boutique this month on Great Eastern Street in London’s East End. The concept behind the line is inspired by Historic Terrorists … or Historical Characters who were considered ‘terrorists’ in their time such as Geronimo, Napoleon, Guy Fawkes etc … and London’s Dickensian characters of the 19th century. The shop, it’s contents, & it’s staff are a contemporary version of groundbreaking British creativity such as the SEX boutique, SEDITIONARIES, & World’s End were to London’s 1970s, 80s, & 90s. This should come as no surpirse as Terrorist is yet another company from Joe Corre, founder of AGENT PROVACATEUR, who re-invented kinky nightwear to international acclaim. Apparently A.P. does a brisk business in the Middle East as well as the Hollywood Celebrity jetset.

If you ever get a spare lunch or even 5 mins it is worth popping by to say hi!
He will inspire you in one way or another, for sure!
If he is not in the shop he will be creating something special and magical in his train car
above street level as you do!!

WHEN YOU GET A LIL BORED OF A PROJECT...

You gotta try and keep the mood high!!
P.M.A
POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE, INIT

WAH YOU SAYIN'

So on Friday i popped along to the POP-UP Wah Nail bar at the trendy new gym FRAME in Shoreditch. I got "nailed" and had a couple of glasses of pink cider. A perfect way to finish a hardcore working week. The whole places was buzzing with sweaty women in lycra hyper-ventilating over the idea of Sharma having a whole nail salon full of WAH attitude and hot Chicks!!!!!
Not long now ladies until you can pop up the road for a lil pampering after your pilates.
Exciting times!!!

THE PRINCESS OF WALES HAS ARRIVED

As those that know me, will know that i have been wanting to record a mix since the day i was born. It is one of those things that is a constant niggle in the back of my brain. I am always trying to figure out how i can combine my love for 2Step Garage, Detroit techno, 4x4 Garage, Indie pop, Doo wop, Acid Jazz, Dancehall, Electric folk, Electro, Funky House, Ragga, Dub house, Dubtronica, Dubstep etc etc into one mix.

I have played tunes (I say "played tunes" as i hate the expression and name dj, as I only think a small number of people are entitled to that title. It is like calling someone that picks up a paintbrush now and again and loves art an Artist. Titles are too losely used nowadays. Only will I ever call myself a dj when i have my Residency on Rinse and can use a Technics SH-EX1200S blind folded will i call myself a DJ. So for now I will make do with my Carboot find Vinyls, 1210's, MP3's and Ableton and continue "PLAYING TUNES" at random parties for random people) at a whole array of parties varying from:

The Hyper trendy SlamXHype, New Order magazine launch in Tokyo, Japan
TO
A Bangin' New Years Eve Beach party n Koh Phangnan, Thailand
TO
A Birthday party in a workmans club in the Valleys, Wales
TO
Sessions GSD BASH at the Vibe Bar Brick Lane, London
TO
A Catholic funeral in Barcelona, Spain.
TO
The biggest 2Step loving crowd ever in Oceania Kingston, London.
The list of random gigs is looooooong, so i won't bore you.

What i am trying to say is that i have managed to put my love for all genres of music aside and narrow it down to select just a few that work well together, well i think so.
In this mix i have managed to squeeze it down to my top 5 genres...
GARAGE
TECHNO
DEEP HOUSE
DUBSTEP
FUNKY

OK OK I will shut up now and let you enjoy the tunes!!!!

what i am working on today

JUST FOR ME, JUST FOR YOU

THIS IS A LOVELY ONE, YOU WILL LOVE IT I PROMISE!!!!

!!!!MATTHEW DEAR!!!!!

IF YOU DID NOT KNOW ABOUT MATTHEW DEAR...
YOU SHOULD

It didn't take long for Ann Arbor, MI's Matthew Dear to catapult himself into the front rank of microhouse producers, emerging in the early 2000s with a string of high-quality releases for Spectral Sound, Plus 8, and Perlon (under several aliases). Born and raised in Texas, Dear first discovered electronic music at age 16; he later attended the University of Michigan, where he met future Ghostly International label founder Sam Valenti IV. He started DJing at parties and eventually moved into production. In late 1999, he and Daisha teamed up to deliver the inaugural Ghostly 12" release, "Hands Up for Detroit." Dear wound up on Ghostly's more dance-oriented subsidiary Spectral Sound, for which he debuted in 2001 with the 12" "Irreparably Dented"; another, "Stealing Moves," followed in 2002. That year, Dear signed to Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 label under the alias False, and issued three 12" singles of minimalist house up through early 2003, which were later gathered on a self-titled CD compilation. 2003 was his busiest year yet: as Jabberjaw, he released the "Girlfriend" 12" on Berlin's Perlon label, and returned to Spectral Sound for EP1 and EP2 that summer. Late in the year, he released his first-ever full-length album, Leave Luck to Heaven, also on Spectral Sound. Titled after the loose English translation of the word "Nintendo," the album earned positive notice from a number of publications, and spun off the highly acclaimed single "Dog Days." The Backstroke EP followed in 2004, and Asa Breed -- his most song-based release to date -- came out in 2007. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide

ROCHELLE CANTEEN

Just popped to the lovely Rochelle Canteen for lunch, I have been waiting ages to go here.
It is either busy with creative arty types being arty and drinking arty coffee or i am too busy being arty ;) It was definatley worth the wait!!!!
It is weird how somewhere sooo close to Shoreditch High St can feel so far away.
You can take your own booze, but unfortunately it is not open in the evening. Which is a real shame but at the same time quite nice as it makes it more special. I even bumped to Mr Trevor J www.trevor-jackson.com who i must admit was looking extremly healthy and well from jetting around Berlin, Israel and Bognor Regis (I tried to take a sneaky peak without him noticing me, unfortunately i did not get away without having a chat, about all things arty of course)

This is what Time Out had to say
"To reach Narnia you went through a wardrobe; here you press the buzzer on the door of this former school to enter another world. Grimy Shoreditch is left outside, and suddenly there are pretty flowerbeds and a lawn with people enjoying coffee and cakes. In the old classrooms, artists and other creatives are at work. The bike shed has been turned into a white, utilitarian restaurant with a large open kitchen. Service is sweet, knowledgeable and professional, so its inefficiency is a surprise. The chefs release dishes far too slowly given this is a lunch venue. It’s hard to fault the food, though. The daily-changing menu exhibits the earthiness and simplicity developed by co-owner Margot Henderson with her husband Fergus . White cabbage, radish and feta salad was creamy, fresh and light: a glamorous take on coleslaw. Warm morel and cep salad featured generous chunks of mushrooms among the vibrant leaves. Mains may include a dish for sharing, such as black bream with grilled fennel and roast tomato. Despite hearty portions, we couldn’t refuse the rich, heady cherry (and sherry) trifle. To drink, bring your own wine or stick with ginger beer."
